While Specific situations dictate who does and doesn’t quality for EI in Canada, some of those rules are being modified or removed to support working Canadians.
The First message is:
APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Anyone under ordered isolation will have the waiting period waved
If you do not qualify, there is an additional Emergency Care Benefit being introduced. It will be made available in April and includes those who are Self-Employed and home caring for children and/or others affected by the virus.
